Prom 2013 Top 3 Lookbook

Every Princess Deserves Her Crown

February 10, 2013 marks the date for the Miss Boston competition. Here at Glitterati, we love beauty pageants, especially ones that reward girls in being unique and accentuating their best assets with the utmost confidence that shines from the outside and also skin deep.

Not only do we love watching beauty pageants but we love being apart of them as well! Being able to help contestants find the perfect dress that makes them feel not only comfortable but beautiful as well is our passion.

Winning the title of Miss Boston offers the opportunity for young girls to win college scholarships, become a leader, volunteer in their community, and showcase their talents. Just even more reason why we love being apart of it!

Online Prom Dress Shopping Nightmare

Hello lovelies! Today’s topic of discussion is the horrors of purchasing prom dresses through online websites: a very serious topic that our stylists here at Glitterati cannot express enough how much of a risk that is to take.

And so, here are the top 3 reasons why finding your fairytale prom dress online can actually turn into a fashion nightmare!

1.) Prom Dress Shopping Scams Online “Fool me once, shame on you and me!”

With the internet growing in popularity, the rise in online shopping scams has also grown. There have been many cases where girls will find their “dream dress” on an online site and they’ll order it only to find that dream dress never came in the mail. If an online site seems even the least bit sketchy and designer dresses like Jovani are notoriously cheap, WALK AWAY lovelies! That’s a clear sign that is surely a scam.

2.) Photoshop and altering pictures aren’t just for models anymore, but dresses as well! “The dress in the picture looked more red than this…”

Another problem with purchasing a prom dress online are the misleading pictures sites will use to promote the dress. A dress online will appear that perfect shade of deep red that you’ve been searching high and low for but you never really know until you see the dress in person to really distinguish the color that it is.

3.) Never judge a dress size by the way it appears in pictures “This is a size 2? It’s so much smaller!”

Every silhouette fits differently to every body type. It’s crucial to understand that although you may be a size 4, certain dresses may appear more form fitting in a larger or smaller size. That’s why here at Glitterati we always emphasize the significance of trying on dresses above all us.
